From Our Backyard to Your Kitchen
Welcome to Honeycombs and More, where we're passionate about producing high-quality, raw honey from our own backyard beehives.
Our bees forage on local wildflowers, fruit trees, and garden plants, creating honey with complex flavors that reflect our local ecosystem.
Unlike commercial honey, our backyard honey is never heated above natural hive temperatures. This preserves all the beneficial enzymes, pollen, and antioxidants that make raw honey so special.
We're committed to sustainable beekeeping practices that prioritize bee health and welfare while producing the highest quality honey possible.

Everything You Need to Know About Our Edmonton Honey
Our Edmonton backyard honey is 100% raw and unfiltered, preserving all the natural enzymes, pollen, and antioxidants. Unlike commercial honey, we never heat our honey above natural hive temperatures, ensuring you get all the health benefits and complex flavors of truly raw honey.
We typically harvest our Edmonton honey during the summer (June-August) when the honey flow is at its peak. This timing ensures our bees have collected nectar from the widest variety of local wildflowers, fruit trees, and garden plants.
We accept various payment methods including cash, e-transfer, and credit cards for your convenience.
A bee nuc (nucleus colony) is a small honey bee colony created from a larger colony. It includes a laying queen, workers, drones, brood, and food stores. We do occasionally sell bee nucs to local Edmonton beekeepers in the spring. Contact us for availability and pricing.
While we follow organic practices in our beekeeping, honey can only be certified organic if all plants within a 3-mile radius of the hives are also certified organic. In an urban Edmonton setting, this isn't possible. However, our honey is 100% natural with no additives or processing.
Currently, we offer local pickup in Edmonton only. This allows us to keep our prices reasonable and maintain the highest quality standards for our honey products.

Edmonton honey has a unique flavor profile from our diverse urban ecosystem. Our bees visit prairie wildflowers, fruit trees like crabapples and cherries, and garden flowers like sunflowers and clover that thrive in Alberta's climate, creating complex, seasonal flavors.
Edmonton honey harvest typically runs from late June through August. Early season honey (July) tends to be lighter and floral from spring flowers, while late season honey (August) is darker and more robust from prairie flowers and late-blooming plants.
Many Edmonton residents report that eating local raw honey regularly may help build tolerance to local pollen. Our honey contains trace amounts of pollen from Edmonton area plants that may cause seasonal allergies. While not a medical treatment, some people find it beneficial.
Our raw Edmonton honey is never heated above hive temperature (35°C), preserving beneficial enzymes, pollen, and antioxidants. Store-bought honey is often heated to 70°C+ and filtered, removing most nutritional benefits and natural flavors.
Raw honey never spoils! Store at room temperature in Edmonton's dry climate. If it crystallizes (which is natural and shows it's pure), gently warm the jar in warm water to return it to liquid form. Crystallized honey is perfectly safe and delicious.
